ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 16. Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, where the sides discussed the finalization of bilateral documents necessary for the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, Trend reports via Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry,
Special attention during the talks was paid to expanding cooperation within the framework of bilateral and international projects. The parties confirmed readiness to continue cooperation in political and diplomatic, trade, and economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
Moreover, the sides discussed steps to accelerate the work on the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) high-voltage power transmission line project, another important area of partnership.
The sides emphasized the importance of strengthening relations between Turkmenistan and Pakistan and further development of cooperation on key projects.
To note, the delegation of Turkmenistan is in Pakistan to participate as a guest of honor at the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
